This year, our association contributed to the 55th Congress of the Italian Society of Marine Biology. Alessandra Staffelli presented the results of fin whale sightings conducted between 2000 and 2025 in the waters of Ischia. Despite exceptional aggregations, such as last July, the presence of fin whales in the study area is highly variable interannually, highlighting how social behavior and group size in Mediterranean fin whales are influenced by ecological conditions and the distribution of prey in critical habitats.
