{"id":4448,"date":"2025-04-22T09:59:06","date_gmt":"2025-04-22T09:59:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/oceanomaredelphis.org\/?p=4448"},"modified":"2025-04-22T10:08:18","modified_gmt":"2025-04-22T10:08:18","slug":"laurea-in-biologia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/oceanomaredelphis.org\/en\/laurea-in-biologia\/","title":{"rendered":"Bachelor of Science in Biology"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-69f6103\" data-block-id=\"69f6103\"><p class=\"stk-block-text__text\">My name is Lydia Morgan, and in the summer of 2023, I had the incredible opportunity to work with Oceanomare Delphis Onlus to study the striped dolphin (<em>Stenella coeruleoalba<\/em>) local population in the Cuma Canyon between Ischia and Ventotene, Italy.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Over the course of several weeks, I assisted in collecting and analyzing data to better understand how human activities \u2014 such as increased ship traffic, habitat degradation, and climate change \u2014 are impacting the distribution and long-term survival of these dolphins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After two years of continued research, analysis, and writing, I presented my senior thesis at Whitman College on the decline and shifting distribution of striped dolphins in this region.
