By organizing events, producing educational tools, setting up exhibitions, supervising dissertations in collaboration with numerous Italian universities, and conducting study camps.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-heading stk-block-heading stk-block-heading--v2 stk-block stk-de66960\" id=\"tesi-e-tirocini\" data-block-id=\"de66960\"><h2 class=\"stk-block-heading__text stk-block-heading--use-theme-margins\">Theses and internships<\/h2><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Oceanomare Delphis has signed agreements with several Italian and foreign universities to offer curricular internships and dissertations. Theses (in ecology, acoustics, and behavior) usually involve the candidates collecting from the field and then enriching the database by taking advantage of the association's 10-year archive.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-heading stk-block-heading stk-block-heading--v2 stk-block stk-f5ff4fc\" id=\"museo-dei-cetacei\" data-block-id=\"f5ff4fc\"><h2 class=\"stk-block-heading__text stk-block-heading--use-theme-margins\">Cetacean Museum<\/h2><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-ad66b70\" data-block-id=\"ad66b70\"><p class=\"stk-block-text__text\">The Cetacean Section of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ischia.it\/museo-di-villa-arbusto\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Villa Arbusto Museum<\/a> in Lacco Ameno displays a permanent exhibit dedicated to the cetaceans that frequent the waters of Ischia. The display is set up in the upper rooms of Villa Ginger\u00f2, it contains figurative panels on the cetaceans of Ischia made with colour plates by Maurizio Wurtz and photos collected over the years by Delphis researchers.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-image stk-block-image stk-block stk-1bb05e1\" data-block-id=\"1bb05e1\"><figure class=\"stk-img-wrapper stk-image--shape-stretch\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"stk-img wp-image-1147\" src=\"http:\/\/oceanomaredelphis.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/scheletro-delfino.jpg\" width=\"1600\" height=\"800\" srcset=\"https:\/\/oceanomaredelphis.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/scheletro-delfino.jpg 1600w, https:\/\/oceanomaredelphis.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/scheletro-delfino-300x150.jpg 300w, https:\/\/oceanomaredelphis.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/scheletro-delfino-1024x512.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/oceanomaredelphis.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/scheletro-delfino-768x384.jpg 768w, https:\/\/oceanomaredelphis.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/scheletro-delfino-1536x768.jpg 1536w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1600px) 100vw, 1600px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-0c3fdf3\" data-block-id=\"0c3fdf3\"><p class=\"stk-block-text__text\">Among the exhibits is the complete skeleton of a juvenile specimen of <a href=\"https:\/\/oceanomaredelphis.org\/en\/common-dolphin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">common dolphin<\/a> (<em>Delphinus delphis<\/em>) stranded in Ischia in November 2003 and recovered by the association's volunteers. The skeleton was reassembled by taxidermist Vincenzo Cicala, under the supervision of Nicola Maio, curator of the <a href=\"https:\/\/universityheritage.eu\/il-museo-di-zoologia-del-centro-musei-delle-scienze-naturali-e-fisiche-delluniversita-di-napoli-federico-ii\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Zoological Museum<\/a> of the University of Naples Federico II. It represents the first documented beaching of this species on the island.<br><br>Also featured are the historical, biological preparations from Zoological Station A. Dohrn made available by the Benthos Laboratory of Ischia, geological maps of the study area, and a bulletin board dedicated to the dolphins' most common prey.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-heading stk-block-heading stk-block-heading--v2 stk-block stk-1bae379\" id=\"festa-del-delfino\" data-block-id=\"1bae379\"><h2 class=\"stk-block-heading__text stk-block-heading--use-theme-margins\">Dolphin Day<\/h2><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-fc22234\" data-block-id=\"fc22234\"><p class=\"stk-block-text__text\">To inform and raise awareness of the urgent need to protect dolphins and their environment, our association has organized the Dolphin Festival, an annual event dedicated to cetaceans and environmental education, since 2002.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-image stk-block-image stk-block stk-99757d2\" data-block-id=\"99757d2\"><figure class=\"stk-img-wrapper stk-image--shape-stretch\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"stk-img wp-image-3342\" src=\"http:\/\/oceanomaredelphis.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/FdD_il-funerale.jpg\" width=\"1600\" height=\"744\" srcset=\"https:\/\/oceanomaredelphis.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/FdD_il-funerale.jpg 1600w, https:\/\/oceanomaredelphis.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/FdD_il-funerale-300x140.jpg 300w, https:\/\/oceanomaredelphis.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/FdD_il-funerale-1024x476.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/oceanomaredelphis.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/FdD_il-funerale-768x357.jpg 768w, https:\/\/oceanomaredelphis.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/FdD_il-funerale-1536x714.jpg 1536w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1600px) 100vw, 1600px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-5e90c7d\" data-block-id=\"5e90c7d\"><p class=\"stk-block-text__text\">The purpose of the Dolphin Festival is to disseminate information about the decline of Mediterranean dolphins as a consequence of overfishing and the degradation of the marine environment.
